I suppose living here is somewhat like living on the Space Station. Periodically you need to do a re-supply mission back to the US of A. Why you ask when it’s such a paradise here? Well believe it or not things break here, or need parts, or you just need stuff that you just can’t find here without a major time consuming effort. Take light bulbs for instance. I have a very nice desk lamp that uses a small two pronged halogen bulb. After years of service, the bulb finally gave out. Find a replacement here – forget it. OK, how about just a simple night light bulb – not here! Car parts – maybe in San Jose, Other things too, like condiments – even cold medicines – send the re-supply module. You see as hard as we may try to adapt to the Tico lifestyle, there are just some things that you just have to have, and so as the backlog of items that need replacing, refilling, or repairing build up, like the folks in the Space Station know, you have to bring them from earth, or in this case, the US.
